Should I have an IOVERA injection before a TKR?

You are very right about nerve damage...there is always a chance of that with any surgery, let alone having the Iovera..but what would you do if NO amount of pain medication works on you? Seriously...would you just not have the surgery? This is where I am in terms of why I've put this surgery off for over 3 years...

@catheem it’s a decision you need to make. I regret the IOVERA but many have no issues with it. Yes there is post op pain but it does get better and the end result is a knee without the pain and disability that was there prior to the replacement. Would I do it again? Absolutely but I would not have the IOVERA ever again!

@catheem I too am concerned about the pain medication. Not only am I pretty resistant to it but I also have kidney disease that limits what I can take. My TKR is scheduled for Oct and I am trying to have a good attitude but after 2 years of pain I have come to the point that this IS the choice. Sounds like we have similar circumstances. When is your surgery?
