@mtstack good morning...I was diagnosed with Uterine serous carcinoma in April 2021....routine pap smear picked it up...totally shocking to me no cancer in my family ..lots of longevity...I'm very healthy, vegetarian , very active with walking pilates and pickleball ....came as a real shock ! Stage 1A small node in uterine wall ...considered a rarew and aggressive cancer with strong possibility of recurrence .....after a hysterectomy i had 3 radiation treatments and was monitored every 3 months with a very brief look at my vagina.....fast forward to September 2022....recurred in my omentum ...I had 6 treatments of chemo with herceptin ( HER2+ cancer). I was very nervous about chemo but I tolerated it very well !! Never nauseous never fatigued...lost my hair ( had a great wig ) appetite was a little wonky...not much appealed to me but i managed to eat as healthy as I could...and continued my life doing what I enjoy doing !! I never considered not doing chemo....after the 6 treatments there was no evidence of disease !!! I continued with herceptin ( no side effects for me) need echocardiogram every 3 months to check heart funtion which can be impacted...so far so good. Unfortunately in May of this year a scan showed a couple of lymph nodes with cancer so I am now on a targeted chemo called enhertu...I,ve had 8 treatments ( 30 minutes ) easy with fewer side effects than the original chemo which was systemic..... For me, I truest my oncologist and the research I have done, and am grateful that the treatments have provided me with the quality of life I value....with the exception of a few days of a lousy appetite, I feel great....strong and healthy doing everything that I have been doing prior and during treatment. Staying positive, eating well, exercising and sleeping well are the best way to fight this monster !!! Please don't be afraid of chemo if it can treat your cancer .....

Thank you for sharing your story. You give me inspiration!

@alohman08 At diagnosis, after your surgery, you only did radiation, correct? I'd like to confirm because I have the same cancer and stage. My plan was to do nothing, but doctor just told me he recommends chemo and possibly radiation too. I'm shocked!

Thank you for sharing your inspirational story.
I have a really good friend who has non Hodgkin lymphoma and has been in remission 9 years after being told by oncologist nothing could be done and he and his wife started whole food plant based eating. So I’ve been familiar with his journey and hoping it might work wonders for me too.
