Who has been on lupron for a long time, and/ or firmagon?
My husband had his last round of Chemo today for stage 4 PC and again the doctor is trying to push him to switch from Firmagon to Lupron.
My husband has different reasons for not switching but one main one is the higher risk of heart attack or heart problems?
He's at the point of not caring about going up once a month to get the injection and hurting for a day or two after.

Good luck, It seem that ADT plus chemo is working for you with the reduction in PSA. Zytiga and Orgovix did not do it for me either and now chemo is in my future.
Zytiga and firmagon still did a great part in lowering PSA I don't know how much chemo actually did with that.
That's why we asked the pharmacist lady if it's even working, she said yes or he'd be dead by now!
I took 6 Month Lupron shots for six years. I’ve never had any noticeable side effects besides hot flashes. I did have the muscle deterioration that it causes and had to go on both strengtheners for the whole time I’ve been on it. I try to go to the gym three times a week to offset the muscle loss.
Got to admit the rash problem is really an obscure problem. I attend a lot of online meetings, at least eight or nine a month and I have not heard anybody else say they had that as a problem.
Wow. I feel special. LOL!
Weak is a fact. I need help at the grocery store, with anything 20 lbs or more. strengtheners?
Night Sweats are more like a drenching rain.
I am OK with all of it as long as it works,
Best Wishes.
I have an embrlabs.com wave product (wave 2). I’ve used it for Over three years now. It’s like a refrigerator that looks like a watch and sits on the inside of your wrist. You could set up one of the buttons for their night mode . Hit the button twice and It Produces cold waves at measured times during the night and prevents hot flashes and night sweats. They used to bug me, before I got this device . When you start to feel a hot flash coming on, you hit another one of the buttons twice and it sends cold chills through your arms and it reduces the intensity, shortens the life and can stop the hot flashes if hit quickly enough.

If you get one, let me know and I can send you the instructions for Configuring it ideally.
I need that!
Hi,
do you have an opinion on buying out right,
or doing the 20 bucks a month rental?
thanks,
Robert
If you buy it, you can return it within 60 days for a full refund. You could also try the $20 month and see if it works for you.
Definitely email for instructions on how to set it up the best, I’ve been using the product for five years and a beta test tested it.
I have been on Lupron every 3 months for a little over 2 years and have had no soreness after the shots. As for heart disease, I have been active all my life and continue to work out in a gym for ~3 hours 3 days a week and ride a recumbent trike (I have had some balance problems since the chemo I did last year and don't trust myself on a bike any more) for 20-30 miles 3-4 times a week. Rather than worry about heart disease, exercise! The other thing about exercise is that it dramatically helps my mental state and sleep. Based on my admittedly short experience, Lupron is good treatment and not to be feared.
@tedbeemer Lupron sucks! Prostate cancer sucks even more!
