Digestive issues

Posted by bumble81 @bumble81, Apr 14, 2020

I started having digestive issues last fall. By December I was told I had bilary dyskenisa and had my gallbladder removed.
That did not fix my problems.
I sometimes have traditional heartburn but mostly I have sour stomach and stomach pain mostly middle immediately below sternum and to the left. Increases after eating. I often feel like food did not make it into my stomach. Like it's stuck down there.

I will get this weird fast quiver like spasm deep inside. I can feel it with my hand I push down and so can my husband and it goes on for hours at a time. Anyone have that before? It's very strange but something inside is not working properly. I also have postprandial hypotension and intermittent difficulty swallowing.

My blood tests show slightly elevated liver enzymes but doc said they are not dangerously high. My stool is frequently bright yellow and liquid:(

Also I cannot seem to get a straight answer but do those of you with experience with ulcers did it cause excessive burping?

Hi,
I have been dealing with most of those symptoms since 2013 without tangable answers. Like your daughter everything comes back as normal. I'd be sceptical of stress not being a factor, just dealing with that lot generates stress. I have been told I have stress and psycological issues. I find this diagnoses usually comes after everything comes back as normal. Typically as they can't figure it out so it has to be psycological, go figure.
Anyway to be working full time while dealing with all of that, full marks to your daughter.
It occurs to me that some form of Dysautonomia is a possiblity, which has many sub catagories. The Autonomic nerve is responsible for all things we don't think about doing, heart beat, digestive system, the act walking etc etc.
Being strong willed has been my saviour, as for me there is no cure and no treatment. I'm left alone to suck it up and find my own way through with the limited help Doctors can give.
There are tests for Dysautonomia.
Cheers

@kritzkarn - welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. That is indeed a long list of symptoms and specialists. I'm sorry to hear that.

I wanted to let you know I moved your post here:

- Digestive issues https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/digestive-issues-weird-sensations/

I did this so you could join in where others have been chatting about digestive issues so they might offer input. Tagging @catherine1290 @brigettehatescdiff @cjval52 @lynlewis @gloria811, and hoping others in this discussion will also chime in. They may have thoughts from their own or a loved one's experience on all your daughter's symptoms, consults and the conclusion her symptoms are stress-related.

In the meantime, I'm glad you connected with @cheyne.

Has your daughter been prescribed any medications or activities to stop or start thus far from your medical consults, kritzkarn?

@kritzkarn Oh my goodness!! I don't know how she is functioning!! Applause to her for pressing on!! I'm 71 and have had some of these symptoms.. and I'm just soo sorry to hear about someone so young and so brave going thru all of this..for nausea I take Zofran (and promethezine..sedating..so not so good for her) I do Plant based Vanilla Ensure as I am sensitive?intolerant to milk protein (did the MRT food sensitivity test and 4 months of the food reintroduction..that was really tough) ..I had a normal gastric emptying.. but one GI found my stomach is shaped in a "J".. so I eat a little 4-6 times a day..I went from 147 to 99 lbs.. but have gained too much back.. this has been going on for over 5 years.. stared with an antibiotic which blew a hemorrhage in my stomach...had my gallbladder out.. was diagnosed with pyloric stenosis lower part of stomach.. had ear wax removed.. had MRI for Vargus nerve/normal.. I hope some of this gives you al some ideas as to what else you can check..my grand niece about your daughter's age had the weight loss and nausea and throwing up.. they removed a cycist off one of her ovaries..that helped..I also had rashes on my hands and ..all over from mold.. the doctor thought I had the flu and gave me penicillin and it's "mold" and I was allergic to it.. was on steroids for 2 years about 20 years ago.. I was diagnosed with a tortous colon too.. and positive for scleroderma/systemic SCL70 pos.. but God healed me of alot of this stuff..still standing for complete healing.. but I pray healing scriptures daily..and never give up!! Your daughter sound like and outstanding amazing young lady!! Prayers for both of you!!
