I had stage 3 adenocarcinoma of the cervix and after undergoing chemoradiation treatment, I developed radiation proctitis and had similar symptoms to what you have described. It has been about 9-years and it does improve greatly with time. It didn't go away completely and other things can aggravate it, but it is not like it was in the first year or two. I also had bladder damage and pain. I went to a therapist that treated cancer patients and they helped break up any scar tissues in the areas that were causing pain and it helped a lot.

Hi Debra, so sorry to hear that you had to deal with all of that pain : (. My husband might need radiation soon so I am worried about side effects. Can you please tell me what kind of therapist helped with pain ?

Thanks so much in advance < 3
