Wow Bob!!! I’m so happy to hear that your appointment went well and that your surgeon is seeking experience from other surgeons in order to have the best outcome for you!! And a co-surgery with Dr. McClendon would be amazing. He is brilliant and to have both of those surgeons working on you, I don’t think you could be in better hands.
Prayers and wishing you the best for your appointment with Dr. McClendon. I just had a follow up zoom appointment with him a few weeks ago. Just make sure you have a list of any questions that you have so that you don’t forget to ask him anything 🙂
Please let me know how it goes and when your surgery date is!!!
Sherry

@sherrym25 I just got off the call to Dr McClendon and he informed me that the best way to accomplish the spine fusion I need is with an "OPEN" procedure. I was reluctant when he first told me as I was thinking all along these were minimally invasive Nero Surgery's after he explained how he needs to adjust my spine so it is in symmetrical it makes sense and I want to move forward with it but I didn't say so.
I left a message for Mary Ellen that Dr McClendon wants me to go over dates for surgery and I need someone there at Mayo and at home to help me thru recovery. Working on that next!
It's all feeling like it's real & going to happen now! A little overwhelming.
