They want me to do 3yrs. Not sure I can do that long, I feel like I'm wasting away

This is really something you have to discuss with your doctor. I did a search on this since I have not heard specific numbers and it really is based on the extent of the prostate cancer case.

If you search Google for this

‘how much ADT time is suggested for somebody that has to have salvage radiation after a prostatectomy”

You will find a variety of answers based on the extent of the case. There is no simple answer.

Because your husband has had some serious issues I would definitely ask the doctor to give you an ARSI as well as ADT, If the doctor feels you should be on ADT for at least two years. The ARSI can extend the time before he becomes castrate resistant, and could greatly reduce that risk. The doctor may want this anyway because of the aggressive issues with his prostate cancer.

The doctor may say he should be on Zytiga, Something your husband could try, but it may be too much since he has a very active lifestyle. It can cause fatigue and blood pressure issues, But it is good to start with it if you can handle it. If Apalutamide or Enzalutamide are suggested you should definitely say that you want Darolutamide Since it has many fewer side effects.

I was told 3 years of ADT, and 2 years of zytiga. But the question is, how long until resistance and how might that change the plans put in place, which in my case was in early August. By the way, I have yet to feel any of the noticeable side effects that others describe (hot flashes, loss of libido, high blood pressure, etc …)
