Has anyone heard of or tried a pill treatment called Vita Soothe Pro? Nerve Savior?

Welcome @gc45, Thanks for sharing what has helped you. I too have had that statin discussion with my primary care doctors over the years and chose to work on healthier eating and more exercise to improve my cholesterol numbers. I posted my neuropathy journey in another discussion here - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/310341/.

Have you seen the helpful information on the Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy website?

Try Bergamot for high cholesterol. I got my husband to switch after liver enzymes elevated due to statins. Cholesterol check now is good.

My pain doctor recommended 200 mg of alpha lipoic acid three times a day for the neuropathic pain. ALA is widely used in Europe for that purpose. A clinical trial found ALA was as effective as gabapentin in relieving the pain. There is also evidence that ALA may help to heal peripheral nerves. I believe this supplement does reduce my pain. It can cause heartburn. I'm careful to sit upright for about an hour after I take it.

Welcome @behappy, You can buy the alpha lipoic acid at most health stores that sell supplements. You can also get them online through Amazon or other stores. The R-ALA is the better version. I’ve purchased these before - https://a.co/d/bSXHtFT

Fullscript on the internet sells it in various quantities. If your medical provider is in their list of "authorized providers" you get 25% off list price.

Thanks for your input. I'm afraid that you and John are both right on this one. after another 4hr. sleep, I was reaching for straws, ready to try any thing. I'm waiting for a call back from my neurologist to see if he will increase the Garapentin. I would like to ask if anyone in the group has tried any of these magic pills, and have had positive results, or not. there are so many out there, I figure some one must have tried one. I will also check the sites that John suggested. Thanks so much, Chas

Watchout for Gabapentin. I have stage 4 prostate cancer and was experiencing many hot flashes. The Oncologist put me on Gabapentin. I went from 300mgs to 900mgs and then stopped. What I did not realize that the Gabapentin gave me Neuropathy. I have several friends that were on the mef and ended up with severely swollen ankles. Also there are too many fake pills out there that are suppose to take care of the nerve damage. I am now going to the Nathional Neuropathy Center in Richmond , VA. The treatment is am/fm radio waves to stimulate the nerves in your feet and toes. Good luvk.
