Hello @jenclemens6306, Welcome to Connect. Sorry to hear that you have nerve damage as a result of your stent surgery 3 years ago. Are you having nerve pain symptoms in both legs and feet or is it just one side? Has your doctor or surgeon offered any suggestions or therapy?

Check CoPilot AI, believe it or not! It's led me to all kinds of medical info!
Good luck!

What can you do after 3 years time, more than likely nothing. Once a nerve has been damaged, or has died there's nothing you can do, it's permanent. All they can do is treat the symptoms.

I got nerve damage in 2021 from chemo for breast cancer. I recently I started using batery operated cuffs I had been given in the hospital after the lumpectomy. I can walk in them, They got rid of the edema in my legs and after about 2 weeks I realized I had the feeling back in my three fingers of left hand that had been numb. My feet are a bit better. I think the improved circulation improved my nerves. Im 84 years old.

I have thigh tingling and nerve pain 3.5 years after anterior total hip. I found this article called Peripheral Nerve Surgery Fellowship (Minnesota). Mayo has developed a way to reattach the nerves. I found 2 neurologists at my clinic who did the fellowship. I am going to get an appointment and see if they can fix this and get rid of the symptoms. Tired of stumbling, almost falling, leg hurting and the doctors are not held responsible.

Can you give me the names of the neurologists. I'm going to Mayo next week.

I don't go to Mayo, so sorry I can't help you. Good luck.

Oh help!! Yesterday I cut my 300 mg gabapentin from two a day to one at Dr. suggestion. Went to bed and conked out as usual after regular HS meds and meditation when I woke up this morning my feet were frozen. They were so cold I just wanted to cry. Called a friend who is able to test circulation in your feet with his phone. He looked at mine and after having been up and moving for about 30 minutes, and taking one more gabapentin , the circulation was improving so I didn’t go to ER where I was hoping they had a big knife they could cut my feet off with. I’ve been up moving around some today and frequently wiggling my toes and it’s time to go back to bed. I took one more gabapentin. I’m going to go tuck my feet under their usual heating pad. I’m scared to think about waking up tomorrow morning, has it ever happened to you? My doctor suggested yesterday. I have a head MRI and I didn’t understand why she hasn’t called me back yet… Of course it’s Friday. Any response would be appreciated. Bcool123
