I am so sorry that it’s taken me so long to get back to you. Between work having a daughter going back-and-forth to his house in my house I’ve just been literally exhausted. He has a CT scan on Wednesday. He has a huge infection his whole right side of his hip into his back is swollen I thought it might’ve been his kidney I’ve never seen anything like it it’s hard to touch it’s really swollen I don’t know if it’s from his surgery I don’t know if it’s an infection that wasn’t cleared up due to his surgery. He had a cyst that was carrying fluid for quite some time that was trapped in his stomach before he had the resection done there was no cancer found they removed the cyst tested the fluid inside of it did the resection took out his appendix, he’s had Crohn’s disease for over 15 years and he is just been dealing with the pain and the constant infection and the doctor convinced him that the surgery would make him a lot better and have a better quality of life it’s not even been a full two months he’s had his surgery since December 7, 2020 I’m sorry if there’s any misspelled words I’m running on barely any sleep. He’s had antibiotics and in case there’s any infection he is continuing to take them until after his CAT scan to find out what this mass is that’s very hard to touch and causing him a lot of pain and unable to walk for any long length of time, he’s able to go to the bathroom he’s able to keep fluids down but he’s always nauseous and barely wants to eat today was the first day he had ate anything in three days because I took him food after I got off work. I will keep you updated and I appreciate everybody on this site more than you guys ever will know. Has anybody any type of similar problems I don’t know where the swelling is coming from it’s not coming from his incision it’s a totally separate area and it looks like it could be swollen from the kidney around the side of his right hip area..it’s just bad. I have been able to keep the fever down with Tylenol keep the swelling down with Ibuprofen but the ibuprofen only takes the pain away in the leg the pressure so he can walk a little bit but the swelling around the right hip and the lower back by the kidney area it’s just really hot and hard and swollen I put an ice pack on it yesterday for 15 minutes and he said it numbed it, but when he got up to use the restroom he said that it was very painful for him to walk and he didn’t know if ice was good for it so he chose not to put the ice back on but I always thought that ice was good for swelling. I don’t know I will keep you updated. Anything that you think I should know would greatly be appreciated.. I will try to get back on in a couple days❤️
I don’t know if my messages are going through but I wanted to clarify he had an abscess Not a cyst That filled up with fluid that caused an infection that he let go on for very long and they had to cut it out and that’s from the doctor convinced him to get the resection surgery because his intestines were twisted near the bowel The Crohn’s disease needed to be taken out and the resection would help cure the crowns disease and during that process he had his appendix taken out as well. He thinks that there might be another abscess in his body collecting fluid and he scared and he thinks that he was lied to about the surgery and that his quality of life is not going to get better and he’s very depressed
@tazjess23,I know how hard it is watching a Loved one suffering! Sorry I just read your post. Did he have colorectal cancer? I would tell you like anyone else to GET INTO THE DOCTORS FACE! But I'm not sure if they would let you since you are not married to him! RIDICULES!! As Ingregerd asked is he in the hospital someone should be concerned about his temperature!
I would try and get in the doctors face anyway to see what you can get some answers! Try going over their heads to someone in charge! I know I sound callous, but I have learned over the last 20 years that someone has to act like the patients advocate!
