I took this too for 8 weeks starting this July- Caused heartburn and brain fog- after resisting for over 10 years! I decided to stop - weaning off- 600mg per day in 4 days- no issues.
I have been taking a CBD/thc gummy at night and 2 Advil to sleep. A week ago after researching deep decided to try ALA and B1.
After a few days of a therapeutic dose - Alpha Linoic Acid 500mg. Morning and 500mg. at night, I am feeling minimal pain with rare zingers! This is incredible to me after tolerating such constant pain for years. I also am not diabetic! Please if you try this let me know how it goes! This has been prescribed in Britain for over 20 years! Check the research too! No real side affects!
Best regards
Karen

Hi Karen, thanks for the information of what you have been doing. I haven't tried CBD gummies and don't know how available it would be here in Indiana. I have been taking 600mg of ALA-R twice a day for over a year. To be honest I don't know if it is helping.
One thing that I have learned is that aspirin, ibuprofen and acetaminophen don't work on my type of pain because of how they work (per my PCP), so for me basically no releif except for topicals and sometimes Capsaiscin cream. This is some of the reason I have decided for the Gabapentin. Also tried the B1 but blood tests tell me I already have sufficient.
Anyway Karen, that's my story. I wish you lots of luck dealing with your situation.
