I had a terrible time with anastrozole and Prolia. I chose to discontinue the Prolia. That helped.
It seemed that I battled through all the side effects of anastrozole for three years. At one point I called my oncologist and told her I was not going to take them anymore. She put me on another drug that was a real horror show. Be careful of what you ask for!
I went back to anastrozole, started taking OTC for insomnia, constipation, etc. At one point my BP was 196/100! I was put on Cpap and now am typically at 118/75.
Now I’m done with my five year treatment. Looking back, I am glad to have completed the regimen if it prolongs my life. But honestly, at the time I struggled to understand the if it was better than dying of cancer. When you’re in the thick of it, it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
But whatever you choose, let it be your decision because you are the one who has to live with it.
As for me, looking from the other side, I’m glad I completed the therapy.
