Dr taking me off Prolia to start Evenity

My Dr is taking me off Prolia to start Evenity as I am continuing to have compression fractures. I have been on Prolia for 18 months. Does anyone have experience with this crossover?

Presently Evenity cannot be used more than a year and insurance cover it.
My doctor thought that will change in the future. She also stated that
there will be more break throughs in the future on osteoporosis medication.
Osteoporosis is a big drain on Medicare. There is a lot of research on how
to increase bone density. I am 71 and will be on bone building drugs for
the rest of my life with maybe a drug holiday or two interspersed in there.

My doctor hasn't told me that I'd be on bone building drugs for the rest of my life, after completing Evenity. But I guess that's what they meant by saying that I'd be on two other drugs afterwards, to "lock in the gains" (doctor's actual words).

Regarding permanent use of these meds, have you noticed any side-effects that are common to long-term users?
