You are correct! I am 68, and trying to avoid meds as long as possible. My parents were 93 and 94 when they died, and both grandmothers were about the same age. Mom had severe osteoporosis, with multiple vertebral fractures. She fell many times and never fractured a hip. Kind of amazing. Dad fell many times in the last 2 years of his life, and never fractured. He was a lifelong exerciser. Mom never did a thing. I did start on BHRT a month ago, but the dose of estradiol is not high enough to build bone. I do feel the best I have felt in a very long time- no hot flashes, sleeping well, more energy. I really do not even know if I can build bone. I am just going for strength and balance.
