My story is different than some in here. I’m a NAVY veteran. Things were hard, after 2 sons born after dangerous pregnancies (1 born 8 weeks premature with a month growth retardation). As time passed my health has deteriorated. I suffered chronic severe migraines, fatigue & finally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in the mid 2000s. Pt is the primary treatment at the time. Fast forward: stroke at 40, thyroid removed in 2014 due to precancerous nodules. Between 2021-2024 I’ve had 2 hysterectomy (one didn’t work) & a dbl mastectomy due to ductile sarcoma . Breast cancer is not fun. I have severe asthma that requires me to have a CPap with oxygen. In the past year they discovered I have CVID(immune system deficiency) & last week: hEhlor-Danlos syndrome.
None of this includes my need to wear braces on both feet because of foot drop and peripheral neuropathy. They did X-rays of my feet/ankles= both my feet have fractures.
Can I say “Damn It?!
I’m just turned 52. Can’t walk, do stairs or trust myself not to fall or crash into things. Always need canes, family has bought me a walker.
Won’t even talk about the PTSD from military service. I’m just confused still. I’m the one chasing the breadcrumbs to diagnose myself because no one in the area has heard of these things. Not looking for meds, just train & support me. I’ll try to keep it up on my own.
Anyone have any suggestions for managing any of my conditions.. or simply the stress?

It sounds like you've had a challenging life full of health issues for you and your family, @rowun4. It does seem stressful, as you mentioned, and I'm really sorry to hear that.

Thank you for your service.

Since this discussion relates to pain meds and gastric bypass, wondering if you had a bypass somewhere in your journey, rowun4? If so, have you experienced pain since that procedure?
