With Lipitor it was about 3 months. I tried taking it every other day, then lowered it more. I had terrible leg cramps especially at night. 2 weeks off, and I was fine. Then Crestor snuck up on me. I had body aches that crept up, then I could use my manual can opener, I had other weird things going on, then fuzzy thinking and brain fog. I was actually going to a physical therapist for something unrelated and had a list for her. I went off Crestor and within a couple if weeks went back to normal and can use my can opener and open jars again. I had a DNA test done which said that I shouldn't use Lipitor. Well, I sure did figure that out on my own!

After my first pancreatitus attack I refused to take another statin of any kind until 2023 when my primary doc recommended Zetia claiming it shouldn't bother my pancreas. He was absolutely wrong!
So from then on, after a severe pancreatitus attack that put me in hospital AGAIN, I now stay away from any medication that might even have a slight chance of causing inflammation of the pancreas as a side effect. So far, Repatha has lowered my LDL-C dramatically without any adverse side effects.

What was the DNA test you had done, @kallettla and what specifically did it find that showed you shouldn’t use Lipitor?
