Wow that's a long time for recovery.
My prep didn't totally clean me out, so they canceled my colonoscopy for last Friday.
Go for consult tomorrow. I have stage 3a kidney disease so they have to be careful what I take for cleansing.
Please stay in touch.
It really has helped me be more @ ease.
PS: Do you remember what your SUV was on your PET scan? Mine is 4

Would you mind sharing what you have to use to prepare for your colonoscopy with the
kidney disease? I'm only at stage 2 but no one is mentioning anything to me about prep and
kidney disease and yet I know it is important what I ingest as far as sodium, etc...thank you in advance for sharing! Glad you had good results on your test!

My Dr prescribed Gavilyte G. Also Gavilyte C is easy on the kidney. Either one is suitable
My nepherologist said it should not hurt the kidneys.

Hello!
45/male here. They found cancer in my cecum in July. I had surgery to remove right side of colon and small intestine. I’m preparing now for 6 months of chemo. It’s not fun but I’m glad they caught it when they did.

I had a scare when my cecum litup on a PET scan in July. Colonoscopy was clear in the cecum but 2 precancerous polyps in the sigmoid.
Pray your chemo goes well with little side effects.

I had cancer in the cecum. It was discovered on a PET scan. I was a T1, so no chemo or radiation. I also had the same surgery. You are so young. So sorry, but they found it early. Was this discovered on your first colonoscopy? Did they test to see if it is genetic?

It was interesting for me, my appendix burst and this triggered a colonoscopy (yes, my first one) and that is where they found it. Why were you having a PET scan? How did your surgery go, mine was awful. I was in the hospital for 15 days

I had a colonoscopy that detected a 2.5 cm mass in the cecum. They said the biopsy was benign. The nurse practitioner told me if I were her sister she would recommend it be removed. I chose to have the surgery at Mayo. They wanted to know if I had a PET scan. I told them no so my provider ordered one. The CT portion of the exam was benign. The PET portion showed the mass was cancer. The surgery was done robotically. It wasn't fun, but no complications. So I go every year for a colonoscopy. Sorry to hear your surgery was awful.
