If protocol 525 is a list of supplements, which are the ones you really need? Why do we have to pay $193 a month for a magical protocol? Has not Mayo looked at each supplement and have a recommendations. This is crazy!!!!!

@cayman44, Thought I would provide my two cents for your questions...

Good question, I'm not a doctor and have no medical background but think it can depend on a lot of different factors, including any vitamin deficiencies that a person might have. The Foundation for Peripheral Neuropathy has a pretty comprehensive list which I think most of them are included in the protocol - https://www.foundationforpn.org/vitamins-and-supplements-for-nerve-health/.

Simple answer, you don't. Nothing magical about supplements. Best to do your own research on each one. You can order them each separately if you choose. Not sure how much that would cost.

No, I don't believe Mayo Clinic has looked at each supplement and given recommendations. I have discussed the protocol supplements with my Mayo Clinic PCP and care team and they didn't have a problem with me taking it to see if it helps my neuropathy. It's OK that you think it's crazy but I started this discussion because it has helped me somewhat and I wanted to learn from the experience of others if it has also helped them.

I shared a document in another discussion that lists the supplements in the protocol along with links to the specific research related to how they help with neuropathy - https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/957496/.
