Ever since I started taking 5000mcg a day of b12 did my nerve pain and sensitive skin go away. I still have pins and needles in my left fingers.

You should still have your doctor monitor your levels. I haven't had any additional problems after going with a lower dose. I have the same issues with my hands and feet. I was diagnosed with severe neuropathy last year. Could be a similar issue. Hang in there.
