Hi @ginnysnow, on a forum like this, we only have text on the screen. But reading through this entire discussion from the beginning, I see that fellow members like @mrmacabre @laura1970 @ellesea01 @SusanEllen66 @naturegirl5 and others have been listening and asking questions to learn more.
You're right. We don't know you and can't possibly know your situation. Other members recognize some of themselves in your posts, however, and offer tips on what helped them.
It can be so hard to know where to start, specific action or steps to take to help yourself. Please read through the discussion from the beginning, starting here https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/i-honestly-give-up/ I think you'll find steps you can start with today.
While we are here to support you, there are limits to how much a forum like this can provide. A professionally trained therapist can help. You can find a therapist through Psychology Today's website:
- Psychology Today: Find a Therapist: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/therapists
- FindHelp https://www.findhelp.org/ is a place to find free or reduced-cost resources. Simply enter your zip code to find resources close to you. This may be a good way to find a social worker who can help get you started.
It can be overwhelming, @ginnysnow. We're here to help you make the first steps. Like someone said earlier, the baby steps count too -- like getting up and making your bed and starting the day.
What's your first baby step today?
getting out of bed this morning was my baby step today. and I am truly sorry for saying that, I shouldn't have. I appreciate all the help from all these people who i barely know.
so thank you guys!
