Hello @brittanypeterson88

Whipple surgery certainly changes the landscape of your digestive tract, as you are well aware. As you are experiencing nausea, I'm wondering if you are also losing weight? Have your food choices changed since your surgery?

While I've not had a Whipple, I have had three surgeries of the upper digestive tract for NETs and understand how food choices change. I now eat smaller, more frequent meals. I try to pack my food choices with proteins and do my best to avoid empty calories. I've also had appointments with registered dieticians who have been most helpful in getting my food needs regulated.

I suggest you look at a Connect discussion on how to eat after digestive tract surgery. We have numerous members who have posted in this discussion about how they adjusted their diet post-surgery in order to lessen the various symptoms they were experiencing. Here is a link to those posts,

It sounds like your nausea is constant. Are there any food types that seem to be triggers for your problems?

Thank you for sharing! I’ve come to find high fat and animal fats are a no. I think with the head of my pancreas gone my body can’t handle much. I know I’m lucky to be alive and cancer free yet it’s exhausting. Especially with my active 3 year old. I wish I could take time off work to focus on my health. But medical bills keep coming along with just living expenses.
