@jhkenn97 How do you know that your statins caused the PN? I haven't heard of any diagnostic tests that can pinpoint the root cause of PN. I will say that it may be coincidental that my own PN started about the time that my Primary put me on it for slightly elevated cholesterol.

@heisenberg34 I've done a lot of research on PN, and have not found a correlation between statins and PN. I was diagnosed with PN in 2011 and began taking rosuvastatin in 2019. My oncologist recently took me off the statin, as she said it could adversely affect the success of the selpercatinib I take for thyroid cancer. No one has been able to establish a cause for my PN through diagnostic testing, so at this point, it is considered idiopathic.

My Dr pit me on Statin and my calf pain started. He changed Statin twice but still pain continued.
Also my blood sugar shot up and I am on Metformin.
After a year finally my Dr changed to Fenofibrate and all my pain gone and Metformin reduced to 500 mg

@heisenberg34 Lots of studies support the correlation and it is very convincing. 20 % of the population? That is 1 out of every 5. It comes from excellent sources, not Dr. Oz snake oil. There are other meds available. Please pick an alternative med.
