Bowel obstruction at 58 turned into stage 4 colon cancer. Surgery, then chemo. I have just done the 10th round, and at least 4 to go. It's exhausting. I too, worry about my family's emotions. Honest conversation has helped. I'm scared too, but we take things 1 day at a time, 1 treatment at a time. So much can change so quickly (as we have discovered), so I don't think too far into the future. I try to make the most of every day and spend it with the people who mean the most.
