GI Disorder and Internal Shaking
Hi all. I'm a 21 year old South Asian female and I have been having GI issues for about five years--mainly along the lines of constipation. I do have bowel movements every day but it takes a long time & I am rarely fully cleared out. These GI issues are always accompanied by other health issues (gas, pressure in head, etc). Recently, some scary new conditions have manifested: In the past few weeks, there have been times where my heart starts beating wildly and very fast. Sometimes, when I'm tired and constipated, my entire body feels like its vibrating internally; the shakes aren't visible but it feels like all my muscles are quivering. At this point, I feel a constant shaking/quivering within my body, especially in my heart cavity.
I have had TWO EKG's and both came back normal. All lab tests for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, etc came back within normal limits. I am very concerned about this internal shaking. My dad says he found something about how GI disorders can impact muscoskeletal system and since the heart is a muscle, it's contracting and being affected. But I wanted to know if anyone here can help!!!!!!! If anyone knows anything at all please please please let me know!!!!!

Thank you for the advice! I’m sorry you had to go through all that, but I’m also glad that they caught things before they got worse. My friends also keep telling me I need to do this, even though I don’t want to. I have such a lack of trust in the medical system, but you’re right. I need to do it just in case there is something they can find and fix. Thank you again and take care.
Peace to all,
I joined this group to share a little on my own health journey and in sharing I hope and pray that I may be a little light shining for those who are in darkness, for those who are in fear and suffer alone. The first time I noticed weakness was from getting back from a holiday. I suffered from bloating, weakness, constipation, swollen heavy ankles, migraines and I had to stop eating dairy, bread. I went on a strict diet of no sugar, just fresh vegetables, fish, meat. salad. I did a parasite cleanse and felt much better but I wasn’t topping up my vitamins enough for years. Bloating and the other health issues were causing malabsorption of iron and B12, B6, B1 which are for the nervous system.
About 23 years ago I ended really in terrible way, where I was so weak, I had tremors, vibrations, movements in my head, lightheaded, loud noise in my head like the whistling and chucking of a train. Very scary. I was in and out of hospital and all the blood test result were all good. Only a tiny low on iron. Hospital couldn’t find anything so I was sent home under investigation. My pharmacist did my blood pressure and said that I was anemic. And he told me to take iron and B complex and I improved. Not fully, but I was out an about. During the 5 months I was bed ridden I put all my trust in something Greater than myself. About 7 years ago I had a relapse not as bad as the first time. I started to research on vitamins and any way to get to the point I noticed the B complex vitamins and iron seem to make an improvement. I went to a private clinic where I had IV therapy and B12, B6,B1 injections. This has made a great improvement in my well being. Plus when testing for B12, it’s active B12 that needs to be checked. Not the non active B12. Malabsorption will stop absorption of vitamins.
GERD/Acid reflux stops absorption of vitamins. Carbs also can do this. Noticing the colour nails and gums and hair falling is good indicator of malabsorption.
What I have found out recently also is that the Vagus nerve plays a great role in our well being and on this journey of researching the way to nourish the vagus nerve is having omega 3 and belly breathing. I am still on the journey of recovery, and learning new ways to healing.
Thank you.
I also take Biodentical Hormone Replacement. If you have IBS taking Progesterone makes it worse.
Magnesium glycinate helps keep you regular. I take one at night and I’m good to go in the morning. Nothing dramatic tho.
I’ve been having the same symptom that you mentioned - (Sometimes, when I'm tired and constipated, my entire body feels like it’s vibrating internally; the shakes aren't visible but it feels like all my muscles are quivering. At this point, I feel a constant shaking/quivering within my body)….
bout it starts in my upper abdomen and if I let it it effects my entire upper body. It usually starts after being awakened by a bad dream in the very early morning hours.
Try the magnesium glycinate before bed. It helps keep you regular If one doesn’t do the trick take one at lunchtime as well.
I’m so happy to read that it isn’t just me with these symptoms. It has somewhat helped my anxiety about the whole mess. It’s a scary thing to live with.
This is an old group of comments. Since 2018 internal shaking. 3 mri of brain. Total knee replacement , been on senna everyday for 4.5 years! Due to botched surgery. Still on pain meds !! Epidurals, blocks, RFA. Now adrenal fatigue. 2 Endos. First did nothing? 2 nd is jamming me with hydrocortisone. Not helping the shaking internally. Can’t get into mayo, did not meet their criteria. Then yesterday from nuero I get baclofen, 4 tabs a day! 10 mg. We never talked about this. Older nuero, done with the young! There is a platform called Doctor patient platform on FB and tic toc. Nurse who takes about our shakes and much more. Interesting. As we all go through something as physicians should know.
