@creondave: Just my 2 cents for you to consider with your trusted doctors: I had all the above gastro symptoms for 2 yrs - many drs expressed what they thought was appropriate diagnoses, but IBS, various medication, diet, etc. were NOT the cause of my symptoms. My correct diagnosis came after several CT scans and EUS gut examinations… after that last biopsy of a suspicious nodule hiding near the duodenum bulb at the small intestine junction proved to be NET Carcinoid cancer (my primary tumor).
My gastro symptoms only have diminished since the Oncologist began my Lanreotide 28 day injections to control carcinoid syndrome including diarrhea, gas, bloating & other gastro symptoms.
I want you to get your regular life back - free from the limiting gastro symptoms you deal with everyday. Please stay aware of increasing symptoms and be persistent in your decisions for your best health. My heart hopes this saga will not be your reality. It is human nature for all of us to hope our symptoms disappear and we discount they are warning signs. I wish you excellent health!

Thank you for the feedback and support. I appreciate it as it is always easy to overlook something. Indeed, we need to be vigilant
It never occurred to me that my symptoms would go away, as testing indicated something bigger was happening. For me, the Creon, low FODMAP diet, and peppermint oil did help to alleviate symptoms significantly, especially with IBS symptoms that disrupted daily activities as well as the embarrassment.
It seems as if the body and the healthcare system are so complex that it is a miracle any progress is made at all, so I am grateful, albeit pessimistic at times.
