Referral made. How do I follow up to get status of referral?
In August my doctor made a referral to Mayo Neurology Department for Autonomic Reflex Testing. How do I contact them to get the status of my referral and get this moving? I would like a phone number where I can reach out. Thank you.

Hi @zippitydoda, I love your user name!
You should be set to contact Mayo Neurology with the information @bajjerfan provided above.
I thought you may like to read more about Mayo Clinic Neurology. I am not sure of your specifics to direct you to a subgroup, but they are listed on the “specialty group” tab. You mention autonomic reflex testing and there is an autonomic neurology group. This is a link you may want to keep handy as there is another tab where you should be able to find your doctor once you know who you have an appointment scheduled with.

If you don’t mind sharing a bit more, how did you get to this point of being referred to Mayo for autonomic reflex testing? What Mayo location have you been referred to?
@zippitydoda
Beside the referral, did you also call about making an appointment? You can contact Mayo about appointment's at: http://mayocl.in/1mtmR63
Thank you @roch, @jlharsh and @bajjerfan for responding to my post. This is my first time posting and responding so I hope I'm doing it right.
As anyone who has been referred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, I'm in a state of flux and high anxiety and have a million questions. I hope to make a phone call to them tomorrow to get the status of my referral and I'm trying to make a note of what I need to ask when I do.
To @jlharsh regarding what led me to be referred, I can give a brief summary and don't mind the question at all. I have a temperature disorder/disturbance that my body responds to in overheating, cold shivers, sometimes simultaneously. What started out as annoying and discomfort two years ago has gradually become debilitating and affects my daily life. Have been to every specialty and have had nerve studies, muscle studies, vascular studies, MRIs, CT scans and can find no answers. My Neurologist finally made the referral to Mayo.
Thank you all so much. I appreciate the feedback.
Don't call the general appt dept, call the specific department.
Geez @zippitydoda, how you have been struggling with temperature regulation has to be frustrating. Thank you for describing what you have been dealing with.Mayo Clinic sounds like a good place to help you tie all your symptoms and the testing you’ve done together. I am hopeful progress will be soon. Keep pushing!
You mention that once was annoying and discomfort has progressed to affecting your daily life. I absolutely feel your pain! I found myself in a systemic circulation crisis a few years ago, and when I wasn’t getting better I ended up at Mayo Clinic. They have been addressing one symptom at a time and I continue making progress.
What is your toughest daily struggle, or disappointment with not doing? Have you had a chance to check in to find out the status of your Mayo Clinic referal?
So nice to hear you are making progress @jlharsh. I sure hope I have the same progress. It's nice to hear encouragement from others.
I have been able to verify that my referral has been received and I received the email questionnaire. I was told that once I returned that information it will be reviewed within 5-7 days.
My daily activities have pretty much been reduced to clinic visits and trips to the grocery store. That's about all I can handle anymore.
Great news that you are a step further with your Mayo Clinic referral, @zippitydoda. I remain hopeful right along with you that they will have helpful information when you call back to follow-up on your submitted questionnaire. Please come back and update as you go through this process.
I am sorry your daily activities are limited and how this affecting your life. My husband has done our grocery shopping for quite a while and I have recently taken it on. Regular grocery store trips became more than I could manage. I starting by taking advantage of curbside pick-up and this helps me focus on meal planning. I want to be as independent as I can, for as long as I can. My job, diet, activity and self-care have been about all I have been able to handle.
I notice on your profile that you follow the MAC & Bronchiectasis Support Group, and you mention having clinic appointments. How are these related to your temperature disorder/disturbance, or maybe you have other health issues? I am also curious if you notice diet or activity level impacting how you feel?
