I have had the same experience. My oncologist prescribed effexor to help control hot flashes, and it did help cut my hot flashes by at least half. One side effect of Effexor is diarrhea, and that was the reason I eventually discontinued effexor.

My oncologist prescribed 3 month Depo-provera shots for my hot flashes. They really did make a major difference in my hot flashes, I took it for about five years. I stopped for about 2 years but I got one about six weeks ago, because my hot flashes started bothering me again. It has greatly reduced the intensity and frequency of the hot flashes.

I have an embrlabs.com wave product (wave 2). I’ve used it for Over four years now. It’s like a refrigerator that looks like a watch and sits on the inside of your wrist. You could set up one of the buttons for their night mode . Hit the button twice and It Produces cold waves at measured times during the night and prevents hot flashes and night sweats. They used to bug me, before I got this device . When you start to feel a hot flash coming on, you hit another one of the buttons twice and it sends cold chills through your arms and it reduces the intensity, shortens the life and can stop the hot flashes if hit quickly enough. They have a 60 day money back guarantee.
