I think I did something stupid

I had my simulation for radiation today. While I was there and laying down on the scanning machine bed, the techs were telling me that they would be putting 3 little permanent tattoos on my abdomen. No problem. Was on the way home and I noticed some little white crosses covered by clear stickers where they put the tattoos. I peeled them off in the shower. I think I shouldn’t have done that but they didn’t say anything about these stickers. I discovered them on my own. Nobody said anything about them. I am going to call them first thing tomorrow, but did I do something really stupid?

I just had a good laugh thinking about some of the actually stupid things I've done over the years. Most of them didn't seem very funny at the time.

I'm glad. I doubted there was any problem, but this is a stressful time, and anything can feel like a big deal. At least you can cross this one off your worry list now.

Thanks North! Yeah this is a super stressful week. Simulation for radiation, first blood test since starting adt, I’m doing a bone scan now, and to top it all off, I had a crown on one of my back molars fall out and my dentist is closed for the week. It’s a tooth that had a root canal so I’m not in any pain and they said they would cement it back in on Monday. Ugh! I find out my PSA in a couple hours probably and I just hope it went down since my injection on Aug 6.

I don’t know. They said they were very small and I have a lot of hair on my abdomen 🙂

As competent professionals in their field, they should have told you exactly what they were doing and why, to include any post-procedural limitations, cautions, or actions on your part. If there is a problem, it will be on them...a good learning experience to make sure they communicate with their patients.

As competent professionals in their field, they should have told you exactly what they were doing and why, to include any post-procedural limitations, cautions, or actions on your part. If there is a problem, it will be on them...a good learning experience to make sure they communicate with their patients.

I agree 100%. I even went back and re-read all the paperwork they handed me on the way out. No mention of post simulation care at all.

Just got back from simulation. I was looking forward to ripping the stickers off but all I got were purple ink X's over the tats. No stickers. 😒
