I was on lowFODMAP for over a year in the beginning when they had just lumped me into the IBS net. Did me no good and in fact I continued to get worse. Fast forward to now and we think its Methane SIBO-C. I used to have a variety of stool dysfunctions, but now it is down to the constipation. Just finished the Refaximin, and just starting on going the herbal route. I research like crazy, and found a couple studies that artichoke leaf and ginger improve motility so starting those. Also starting Allicin and Berberine and hoping like crazy it works.
FODMAP is definitely a life-saver, but only if you stick rigidly to the rules for a long time. My specialist dietician told me many people say it doesn’t work, but she always finds that they haven’t been able to follow the diet precisely.
