I am very old. My birthday is on the 27th and I will be 91 years old. Even I have trouble with this number. Now here's the thing. I am very good for my age. I am a widow and so live alone. I live alone because I can. There is nothing wrong with me. No signs of dementia or other debilitating diseases. Just got my driver's license renewed. I drive everywhere and even freeways have no terror for me. But I have always been extremely shy and introverted and never had many friends. By now all are dead. I have an acquaintance I see maybe once a month and we go to lunch, but that's about it. I read a lot and thank goodness we have a wonderful library in our small town. I do not watch much TV but when I do I try to find programs that will teach me something. But bottom line is that most of the time I am lonely and really getting tired of living. I will never harm myself. but more and more I am wishing that I will just slip away during the night. I do not believe there is an answer for me.
