After my first infusion, I was very sick with flu-like symptoms. However, I just had my second infusion, and exactly as the drug company information said, my side effects this time were minor and not worrisome. I would not hesitate to do a third. The nurse ran saline before, during, and after the Reclast and set the Reclast for 45 minutes. I was super hydrated and had taken Zyrtec and Tylenol before. I continued to take Tylenol for a few days. Note, I have Mast Cell syndrome and react very easily and this time, as I said, I reacted very little.

Although it’s mentioned that everybody seems to take Claritin which takes 3 hours to really take effect and Zyrtec takes 1 hour. Zyrtec’s main ingredient is cetirizine hydrochloride and Claritin’s is loratadine. They do work the same way. Just some information to consider before Reclast.

sandrac, would you mind letting me know how much fluid you took before and after and when you started taking it prior to the infusion, Could you also comment on when you started the Tylenol and how often you took that?
I sure would appreciate it.
