Hi Maverick,
I have an appointment with my doctor in a couple of weeks to discuss Trimix, and I’m a little nervous about it. Can you give me an idea of what to expect at my first office visit? From what I’ve read, it sounds like you have to test it right there in the office. Is that true, or can they let you take it home and try it out with your wife’s help?

I heard they definitely try it in the office and in some cases they have had people bring their wife so they have some Assistance with getting an erection.

They required I be ‘trained’ to use it in office. I do think it is necessary to learn correct procedure and needle placement. I had my ‘training’ in office with a PA. She instructed me and walked me through the procedure. I had to actually do the procedure and give myself the first shot right there in front of her. I measured the suggested dosage they use for first shots in the training . It turned out to be too big of dosage for me. It worked quickly, but I ended up going to ER that evening after 4+hrs. By the time they saw me (another 2 hrs later) things had started to recede and I didn’t need any treatment. Kind of scary though. I cut way back and eventually found the dose for me.

I did not try it in the office. My urologist gave me instructions and faxed in a prescription for me to MenMD. I received a phone call and was given more instructions about how to handle the medication (refrigeration, etc.). My hands are a little shaky, so I invested in an auto-injector which made the process quite easy. There are numerous YouTube videos available from MenMD and other sources that walk you through the whole process.
