Hey mrmacabre: Thank you for your reply. The thing is, I knew the issue was with Attie's mouth. I thought it was a tooth issue. I had just moved from Fl. where I had 12 plus years of loyal vet care, to a place where I knew zero good vets. To make matters worse, it was during Covid that he was first showing symptoms. I must have tried 3 or 4 vets , where I had to hand him over and wait in the car for the prognosis. When Attie stopped grooming himself, I just knew it was something more than tartar on a back tooth. The very last vet I took him to, lifted his tongue ( this time in my presence) and there was a horrible large tumor. The vet was sure it was cancer. I completely lost it. I had no one with me to help decide what to do and not a lot of money. I still second guess myself to this day. Your suggestion to get an older 🐈 was considered, however, I am still recovering from an operation on my lung from....guess what? Cancer. They found 3 more very small tumors post-op. Still not sure how they missed them with a huge battery of tests. So, I was being kinda literal in a maybe soon way " I might be leaving this world." I'll still think about all your pros. They were all good ❣️

Man that really sucks, I'm sorry for what you're having to endure, life definitely isn't fair. When you're fully recovered from your current condition, then I would definitely get yourself an adult female feline companion. Not only will it help you feel better, your new partner in crime's life will be better as well.
