It's good that you don't go into debt unless something essential breaks that is a huge expense like an air conditioning/heating system which I just replaced. However, after two months I was able to pay it off. They still tried to charge me a large interest charge even after it was paid off! I got them to take that off. But I had to be firm.
Watching what you enjoy or listening to music you like is very good. We may not always agree as to what we like but if you enjoy it or it makes you happy that's all that matters.
