I’ve been taking Tamoxifen for about 6 months now. I’m postmenopausal and had a low grade ++- ductal carcinoma, T1bN0. I’ll likely be taking tamoxifen for 4.5 more years.

Initially I had an increase in hot flashes and joint pain (which I had before starting taking it). The number of hot flashes have decreased, and the joint pain is almost gone. I do have occasional nigh sweats which can impact my sleep. That’s it. No headaches, no brain fog, no weight gain, no moodiness, no vaginal issues, and no stomach issues.

Life has pretty much returned to normal for me.

For the most part, it’s just a pill I take every day. The hot flashes are obnoxious, but manageable—something I’ll gladly put up with if it reduces the odds of recurrence.

@rhundt - what amount are you taking? I start in a month and dread hot flashes again or brain fog

@rhundt , can I ask how many mg. you are taking? My doc wants me on 20 mg, but I've started on 10 since I always get bad side effects with AI's & Fulvestrant shots.
