STOP! Don't do this if you have osteoporosis
I am starting this thread hoping people will post things they've done that they have regretted, for one reason or another, when suffering from osteoporosis.
I'm going to start the conversation with a list of things we've learned already, and we are newbies!
1. Lift objects heavier than recommended by your physician (for my husband, that means nothing heavier than 5 pounds right now, with 3 fractures).
2. Don't bend at the waist! He got a fracture bending to empty the dishwasher.
3. Be cautious when driving - avoid rough roads, bumps, and go very slow over speed bumps.
4. We had planned to go on a boating tour (on a commercial fishing boat) on the ocean. After seeing a boat rocking and bouncing over choppy water we decided not to go.
5. Do not slouch when sitting in a chair or couch. If you're going to rest for any period of time on a couch elevate your legs (per our physical therapist).
6. Do not try any exercises until you have cleared it with your doctor, especially before your doctor confirms your fracture is stable.)
Please add to the discussion. I think this could be useful to people, especially people new to this.

I’m not sure what this means ?!
truly amazing reversal without medication, hats off to you ! A big thankyou for taking out time to dig out your scores and sharing. my T scores are in the the range of 3.2 - 3.4
Mostly I will start medication post all the lab tests but feeling reassured that once the scores are back to a decent level then I can get off them properly and continue with all the natural methods to keep the scores intact.
I'm so overwhelmed & grateful for all the sharing of information, videos and personal experiences by everyone of this warm community
thanks once again
that's wonderful
I would like to know your age as well. Thanks
Don’t take your osteoporosis diagnosis lightly. Do something about it EVERY day; exercise, educate and be mindful. My on and off reaction meant that I ended up suffering through a lumbar fracture. It must be a top priority in your life to avoid fractures.
You are so welcome. I hope you can get to that place where you can stop your meds and do it naturally. It's not easy, we always have to keep at it or it can creep back in. I mentioned in another post that I also do Collagen in my coffee every morning. One of my favorites is Ancient Nutrition because it has the most types of collagen in it, but I do alternate it with Garden of Life Collagen.
Good luck to you, and hope you get better.
Blessings....

Well, I hope the meds help you and thanks to God, you have no side effects.

I’ve also read that taking magnesium later in the day, hours after taking calcium/D3/K2, aids in calcium absorption in the bones & teeth. Taking calcium and D3 alone is thought to intensify atherosclerosis.
You are so right! I didn't really believe my initial diagnosis in 2014 (spine -3.6! No way! I was young-ish, 54, and healthy!) but I began taking D3, K2, calcium, and a mineral pill, just in case. Kept up my walking to work and
figured my backpack of stuff counted as weight. But here I am in 2025 with worse score (-4.8), and at least two compression fractures. I've gotten my first Evenity shot and hope to complete a year's worth. I will always tell younger women to go on BHRT at menopause and don't stop! And take osteoporosis very seriously. It's not just the scary hip-breaking stuff, it's also the lost days and weeks of normal life and regular activity, and the loss of height, meaning I need to stretch to kiss my husband and some of my clothes don't fit right, and it's he reshaping of my torso--where once I was tall and thin now I look squashed, as if someone put their hand and my head and pushed down, causing me to expand in every direction. Had I but known.....
Thankyou for the caution and sharing ur experience. I hope now u’ve recovered and are much stronger..yes u’re very right osteoporosis shouldn’t be ignored but addressed from every angle
