What could be wrong with my jaw?
I had 9 teeth fillings in the course of two months where the last one was 1 month ago, since then it feels like i am unable to find a place to rest my tounge when closing my mouth into a resting posture, it goes automatically to an uncomftrable place too backwards or too forward where it presses my teeth, which forces me to keep my mouth open so im just with my mouth open all the time, also my mouth opening is limited, the inability to find a resting posture also causes muscle strain and specifically my right side of the jaw also pops all the time, since its been a long time since the fillings done I thought if it may be possible that the hyperextantion of the jaw injured it in some way, if so what should I test for and if anyone experienced a similar symptom and found the case or have any idea what could it be I would like to know, thanks.

Hello @ariza9110,
I combined your new discussion on where to turn next with your jaw issues with your existing discussion titled:

Here you met @fourof5zs, @jenniferhunter, @thenazareneshul and @annevan, who shared their experiences and offered some suggestions but may have more ideas considering you saw a TMJ specialist already who did not think it met the criteria for that diagnosis. When the TMJ specialist said they didn't find anything wrong, were any suggestions given or new opinions to seek?
If I were you, I would return again to your dentist and tell the dentist that your bite is “off”. As someone else replied, this can be tested with inserting a small piece of carbon paper between your back teeth and biting down, along with moving your teeth side to side. If this dentist doesn’t find anything wrong, get a second opinion. On your jaw……I am only taking a guess that it might be TMJ. I have had this for many years and one morning, could not open my mouth! It has to do with tension, clenching and grinding the teeth while sleeping. My dentist made me a “night guard” and it really helped with my jaw pain! I have to admit that I don’t wear it every night, although I should! The morning that I couldn’t open my mouth, I called my primary dr and he told me to put warm compresses on my jaw. It did help and after 10-15 minutes, I could open my mouth. Hope this helps. MaryAnn from Boston
