My God, i don t know what chances do i have, they say only very few cases progress to cancer but you can never be sure, doesn t matter what you do. It is horrible. Soooo scary!!

Thank you for mention this condition. I heard about this or something like this in the 1970’s but have heard it mention again until now.
I’m going to look into it now because it seems like I’m being invited to investigate.
Hope you are okay I’ll post anything I find that may be of help to anyone who has this developing

Thanks for reminding me of it!

Hi @mimo, I am so glad you found Mayo Clinic Connect. Welcome!

I am not familiar with intestinal metaplasia and just did a little searching online to learn a bit. It is interesting that you do not have helicobacter pilory. I read that not smoking and getting enough dietary vitamin C are controllable risk factors worth taking a look at: https://www.verywellhealth.com/intestinal-metaplasia-4797929

I understand your concern with wanting to control this so it does not progress. Cancer is scarey. If you haven’t seen it already, you may want to check out MC Connect discussion addressing this concern:

Are you working with a doctor? What is next now that you know what you are dealing with?
