Hi, I had Acdf on c5-c6 for a herniated disc and severe bilateral nerve entrapment. I survived the surgery but its been a nightmare. Its been 3 years post op and I have extensive anterior osteophytes above my fusion and now advanced arthrosis of the facet joint c7-T1. The pain in the shoulders is unreal. Do your homework and realize that once its done its done. I hope it works out for you. Pain is no fun and chronic pain sucks the life right out of you. I feel for you and hope all the best!!!

@livininthestix I’m sorry you have more spinal issues. When facet joints develop arthritis, it can be because discs are shrinking or losing height which puts more pressure on the facet joints. Bone also remodels from pressure which can cause bone spurs. They also grow in areas where a disc herniates in response to the inflammation.

Are you considering consulting a spine specialist for treatment?
