Hi, shooshoo. I know you posted back in April but Im new to Connect. I read your post and wanted to ask you if you have been able to find any relief from your chronic back pain? I’ve struggled for years with chronic thoracic and lumbar back pain. I have degenerative disc as well (along with bulging discs and stenosis) and receive facet joint injections at MANY levels at a time several times a year and they do seem to help for a few months. I also get epidural injections in my thoracic area a few times a year and that helps, too. I am a patient at the Mayo Jacksonville, FL location. I love my pain medicine doctor. He’s so kind, patient, and exceptionally skilled at helping control my pain. I dont live in Jacksonville so my husband takes me over from where i live about three hours away. I do have a pain management doctor where i live who is very kind to manage my pain medication. I just have so many places in my back that are incredibly painful and injections only help with some areas of pain. I couldnt live every day without pain medicine, unfortunately. I cant stand or walk for more than thirty minutes without excruciating pain. I also have horrible neuropathy. My lower legs and feet stay numb all the time. I have neuropathy in my forearms and hands, too. Just not as bad as my lower extremeties. I cant lie on my back because then my entire legs get numb. Im scheduled to see neurology at Mayo next month. I really hope youve been able to find relief from some of your pain. I understand completely how devastating the pain is to your life. It has been for me, too. I hope to hear back from you and that you are feeling better.
