Hi
Your diagnosis of PMR and treatment is going to be unique to all of us. Remember prednisone is doing the job of the adrenals/cortisol. PMR can burn out at some point as well. Tapering will absolutely vary with individuals. My own experience is I was pain free on 2mg and now that I’m completely off the drug for 2 months, I contend with aches and pains daily but nothing that keeps me in bed or doing my usual routine. I need to nap every afternoon however. I’m managing my PMR more successfully with an anti inflammatory diet, exercise and use of an infrared sauna almost daily. I’ve also begun a routine with Ayurveda under supervision. It’s all helping. It was tempting to go back on the prednisone but being aware of long term use/side effects, I chose an alternative approach. This too will vary for each of us. I wish you the best in your journey towards health and wellness.

I am interested in how you are managing your PMR and have started looking into the infrared sauna blanket. (I can't afford the full sauna set-up). Can you tell me about your experience with infrared therapy, how it effects inflammation/pain relief? Thank you.
