I finally got to go see a Rheumatologist! She feels the Reclast caused inflammation in my shoulders and left foot. She has ordered prednisone, X-rays and blood work and inquired as to why no one from endocrinologist offered the prednisone at the least, being 14 months out. She expressed that I have two fractured vertebrae in my lower back and to avoid future I really do need something because one could fracture, pinch a nerve and not be able to walk! Not sure if this is a scare tactic to get me back to the endocrinologist or what. Will wait and see what X-rays and blood work say!

dannyandebbie,
I was hoping you wouldn't follow the natural inclination to swear off all osteoporosis medications. Forteo and Tymlos are a completely different experience. They don't mess with your immune system, don't incur the risk of osteonecrosis, or atypical femur fractures. They don't commonly have the number of side effects.
And your (very good) rheumatologist could prescribe one or the other. I'd recommend Forteo not only because I like the drug so much that I hope never to stop injecting it, but because your possible fractures are in the spine where Forteo works best.
I hope you haven't fractured.
