Why do you take a lesser dose of Tymlos? I had taken forteo about 7 years ago for a year and a half after a shattering of my elbow because of osteoporosis. Unfortunately after the hour and a half I had some minor hearing loss. But otherwise the forteo seem to be fine for me but I don't want to have any more hearing loss. Any comments are appreciated I've just had such problems with so many of the drugs

@jaynedanco, I couldn't tolerate any more than a half dose of Tymlos. I took that for 9 months, then saw a new endocrinologist who prescribed Forteo. I seemed to do fine on it until about the 5th month. I realized that I was having more memory problems and hearing loss. I quit Forteo after 6 months and have been back on a half dose of Tymlos. I also recently started an estrogen patch in addition. I am hoping this will help lower my CTX blood markers that have been high, so lower the osteoclasts. I also have developed 2 tooth root resorpsions. Form what I have read, I am hoping that estrogen will save those teeth.
