I'm 75 and I have started to get hot flashes the last year or so. I also get bad cold sweats every night. I haven't. Mentioned this to my Dr. either.

Occasional hot flashes are not unusual, but persistent ones can be a sign of other issues or can be a reaction to medications. Night sweats can be an indicator of an ongoing health issue, or the worsening of a chronic condition, some common ones are thyroid problems and low blood sugar. Please consider mentioning this to your doctor in your next visit.
