Some people are very sensitive to Cipro! There seems to be no way to tell in advance if it will affect you. I have taken it for a UTI a couple of times with no problems. But my brothers wife suffered permanant damage and symptoms after taking it briefly. Someone should do a study on this and find out why this happens!!

@crossette I only took one dose of Cipro for a uti and hours later developed tendon pain so severe I was unable to walk. Tendon rupture is also a side effect of this drug. I fell when I attempted to walk. I've given Cipro IV many times to patients with no apparent problems, but I was unaware of the tendon rupture issue till it happened to me.
