Tymlos

Posted by eileenvan @eileenvan, Aug 31, 2025

I’m taking Tymlos for 8 days now.
I feel like I’m getting a cold (haven’t had one in many years)
Is it ok to take zinc and other cold remedies?

My endo had prescribed forte but my insurance prefers tymlos. I haven't started yet. I took fosomax and had esophageal issues. Just looking for input on peoples experience with tymlos. These drugs scare me.

@mrg1 I've been on Tymlos for 19 months now, with no problems at all. Most people do well. Some do need to reduce the dose because their bodies can't tolerate the full dose.

You won't know until you try.

My first Tymlos pen should arrive next Tuesday. Just in time to start before Thanksgiving. Do you do your injection at night?

@mrg1 I do it in the morning, but that's because I don't have side effects. Some people do it at night because they have some side effects that are easier to deal with when sleeping.

I am not aware that cold meds are contraindicated with Tymlos but you can call your pharmacist to confirm.

@mrg1 I do Tymlos at night because it helps with any potential side effects. I usually inject after dinner.

I did my injection just before bedtime as my doctor advised that it might help with any dizziness that occurred. However, I never had any issues with dizziness. I found that it increased my heart rate briefly by 10% but that it went away after about 30 minutes.
