I hear ya. It's a year and a half past my hip replacement and I am still a cripple. I use a cane, I take painkillers. It's especially frustrating because antibiotics will make it all go away. Of course they tell me that antibiotics aren't the way to go, but it was sure nice to have several months this summer without any pain and total movement when I had a few bottles of amoxicillin. Yes, they checked me for infection, said there isn't any evidence of it. But nevertheless, my hip is acting as if it is infected and responds wonderfully to amoxicillin or keflex. I feel there's stuff they aren't telling me. Yes, I have seen a second surgeon. I am doing all the stretches and taking shockwave therapy as recommended. But I am still suffering.

Keep at it aaronhurts!!! Visit 5 doctors if you have to!! There is a reason why an antibiotic is making your hip feel better. The doctors just need to figure out why. Try writing to NIH. I know that health advice is not easily squeezed out of sources other than our primary physicians, orthopedic types, but someone somewhere has the answer!!!! Keep digging! 🙂 d.
