yes aboslsutely keep digging. google everything and then verify they are ligit sites and start putting pieces together. Medical doctors in my opinion seem to have the answer alwasy with a drug which then causes more problems. When if they could just look at what the root cause is and treat it no doubt naturally. Have you tired or considered dietary changes for IBS such as more fiber, better food choices, less fat, increase in movement etc. Those can all make a difference with ibs and many intestinal issues we humans seem to get. (no doubt from the crap food we tend to eat)

our gut microbiome is a fasnicating garden of bacteria and when one bacteria takes over it can mess things up. And that is true with the bad baceteria and the good bacteria. too much of a good thing isn't always a good thing. And when we add medications to that system guess what the first thing on the list is....may cause upset stomach, nausea and diarreha. Some doctors at least now reccognize that when we take anitbiotics or penicilin etc that it destroys the good bacteria along with the bad that caused the problem. So now we are low on the good stuff and have to repopulate it so they are starting to tell people to take probiotics to help keep the good at least at some level that will make recovery better and keep diarreha at bay. All makes sense when you learn more about it.

Yes, I’ve tried those things. Maybe I’m not patient enough bc if they don’t
help after a few weeks, I stop. I won’t give up but it’s frustrating. Thank
you for your help!
