hello, I have severe osteoporosis with T score of 3.5...since my mother is a BC survivor I cannot take Teriparatide. my doctor has prescribed Prolia but hasn't mentioned the rebound bone loss if stopped without another med. follow up to lock in the benefits. Chatgpt recommends Zoledronic acid post Prolia.
It seems like a lifetime of bone medication and i'm worried about the side effects.
has anyone used the japanese calcium Advacal which is supposed to be highly absorbable and reversed osteoporosis?

Tymlos and Evenity are injectables. Im curious why prolia now? Drug sequencing is very important.

@shail, This is the first time I've heard that you are not supposed to take Teriparatide if your mother had breast cancer. Is there something in the literature or did your physician think this? Do you know the reason?

It is not likely that a calcium supplement reversed osteoporosis. Advacal is like other supplements in that it has calcium, K2, D3, and some minerals. There's nothing special about it. It helps to make sure that you're getting those things, but it is not a cure.

Osteoporosis is usually not an issue of insufficient calcium. The bone remodeling process in the body gets out of balance. There can be a number of causes - and something the cause its unknown. I wish it were as easy as buying a pill on Amazon. 🙂
