Has anyone had SIBO, EPI and a non functioning gallbladder?
Recently diagnosed with all three. Been put on Creon, and feeling a bit better. Super constipated and every day is a struggle. Don’t know what to eat. Exhausted. I drink 60% of my body weight daily, but I’m told I’m dehydrated. How can that be?!?! I Just want my old life again. Anyone else been down this road?

In October-November, 2023, I was diagnosed with EPI and Collagenous Colitis, and my gallbladder was removed in 2013. Creon was a major improvement for me, and I have since added FODZYME - an over-the-counter digestive enzyme powder that targets fructans (contained in fibrous foods like garlic, wheat, asparagus, etc), lactose (in dairy products) and oligosaccharides (mainly beans, some nuts and oats). I've found that adding this increases my ability to digest foods that otherwise would trigger my colitis, and may help with EPI as well. However, we are all very different and what works for me may not work for you. It is all, unfortunately, trial and error, and it is exhausting/frustrating. Good luck!
Regarding FODZYME, is it this one on Amazon in the USA ?
"FODZYME® Home Kit Digestive Enzymes for Gut Health, Low FODMAP, Relief for Bloating, Helps with Sensitivity to FODMAPs like Garlic, Onion, Bread & Dairy, 30 Dose" at $79.99?
Yes, that's what I take. It's pricey but I believe it is helping me.
Hello. I also currently have SIBO. My EPI issues seem to have resolved with taking Zenpep (which is an enzyme med like Creon). I had my gallbladder removed 13 years ago as it was making me ill and tests showed it was non functioning. I’d do more research though before deciding to have a non functioning gallbladder removed. I have ended up with bile reflux which is a bummer.
Did your GI doc have you meet with a dietician yet to help you on food choices? My dietician had me look up FodMaps and use that as a guide. I’ve also learned that too many fats are hard for me to digest, even the so called good fats like salmon, avocado and nuts. The OTC digestive enzymes that help me are Digest Gold by Enzymedica. For constipation, my dietician suggested Sun Fiber, Calm magnesium supplement and stool softeners when needed. It is definitely a trial and error when it comes to what foods to eat and in what amount as well as supplements. Perhaps try creating a food journal with how you felt after meals. I don’t eat out much nor do I eat any processed foods. It takes longer to prepare fresh foods but worth it to feel better.
I feel your frustration. Hope this helps some.
